Happy Birthday Mae!

Gahhdamn, we're getting old. This girl was 15 when I first met her and deeeyum has she grown up. Mentally and physically. I knew Italian food was her favorite, so I decided to treat her to Mi Piace, an Italian restaurant located in the heart of Old Town, Pasadena. The service was definitely not the business, but the food and bread made up for it.

Afterwards, we just spent our day walking around Old Town before I had to head back home for summer school. I really hate that class. But a good way to spend the time that I did have for her birthday.

Happy Eighteenzy Mae!

Lazy Sunday.

Wake up in the late afternoon...

Started off by singing at a filipino choir mass (which I haven't done in ages) and after did nothing but spend the rest of the day with Phil. HELLA lazy day. I spent half of it asleep. Deposited my check, then hit up Mcd'z for a sweeet Mcflurry.

Quick sidenote: Look how far the ipod has come (Left: 1st gen ipod Right: iphone)..

Promotion.

A photoless blog...

So yesterday from 6 to 10:30 and today from 6:30 to closing were my first "real" shifts being a new server for Johnny Rockets and before both of these shifts I've been really nervous.. like HELLA nervous. But after experiencing two shifts that my co-workers have called, "the busiest its been all summer", I feel a little better as to my working abilities and my multi-tasking skills. Walked out yesterday with 50 in tips and today with 69.

A success? I think so.

I Got Sole.

Throughout my teenage years, I've always a certain craving for shoes. Vans, Nike's, Puma's, Jordan's. Yeah, the hype has died down for me personally, but it makes me wonder how different my adolescence would be if I had never experienced this "love" for sneakers. I wouldn't have discovered the dance community, learned how to manage my money to get what I want, and meet a lot of the friends I have now.

It's kinda funny how a simple piece of leather we place on our feet for protection can change someone's life.

Palm Treo 750.

With added Mo!

Ikea and Such.

Today, a random.. chill day. I received a text from Errol saying I forgot my wallet at his house, and couldn't really drive anywhere, so I called Mae and asked her if she could drop me off at school.

Spanish 1 is a waste of time by the way, but I somehow manage to make it through the 3 hour long classes. After class, I headed to Ikea with Mae to help her carry her new desk and chair.

Took her new shit home, and built it... all. New desk, new mirror, new chair.

Happy Birthday Wowa!

Ever since I can remember, I've always called my Lola Remy "Wowa", just because of the simple fact that my older brother couldn't pronounce the "L" in "Lola" when he was younger and two Sundays ago, my family and I celebrated her 85th birthday.

Yeah, 85th!

I saw some family members that I haven't seen in ages and it was nice to see everyone once again. Yeah of course there was food.

And like I said, it was nice to see the fam reunited.. kinda.

The kids always do what they do. Sit around in the back corner, eating and eating, while talking about pointless shit. But even then, it's tradition.

Happy 85th Wowa!

Finally.

It's about gahhdamn time. After waiting about 7 months for their word to pull through and bugging the shit out my manager, I'm finally being promoted from an FDR (busboy) to a server of Johnny Rockets.

The training process is usually a 5 day process, but since I've been working there for a little over a year now, my manager bumped it down to 3. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Now to study the menu.

Hang in There.

After endlessly cleaning and preparing my house for my cousins who arrived from New Zealand this past 4th of July, I came across a shitload of hangers in my closet. I emptied out my closet of any clothes either too small to wear or clothes I no longer wear.

And this was the aftermath.

Real Talk.

Summer. Absence. Love. Spanish. Distance. HEAT. New. Old. Insomnia. Determination. Practice.

And once again, sorry for the lag.. but I've lost the cord I use to upload pictures from my camera to my lappy, so until i find that, my blogs are photo-less.
